Alessandra
Instructor
After having studied classical and modern dance for more than 20 years and after having graduated as a modern dance teacher with IDA (International Dance Association), Alessandra first approached yoga during a university exchange in India in 2009. Since then, she has continued practising yoga in Europe, investigating different styles, until she met James J. Eruppakkattu, a well-known teacher in Torino, is originally from Kerala. Seeking a more comprehensive perspective on her yoga asana practice, under James’ guidance, Alessandra has deeply studied, both theoretically and experientially, yoga philosophy based on Patanjali’s yoga sutras and has undertaken a two-year teacher training.
More recently, Alessandra has also completed a yoga teacher training in line with the international standards of Yoga Alliance at Himalaya Yoga Valley, in Goa (India) under the guidance of Lalit Kumar, an experienced yoga master, officially certified for teaching Ashtanga Yoga Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. With Lalit, Alessandra has more deeply studied the Ashtanga Yoga practice, comprehensively and traditionally. Lalit continues to be the reference master for Alessandra, following her developments concerning both her practice and her teaching.
Yoga
Humbly honouring the ancient tradition of yoga, Alessandra’s style draws its roots from Patanjali’s philosophy and is inspired by Vinyasa Yoga. It combines the more physical and dynamic asana practice with breathing practice (pranayama), concentration (dharana) and relaxation.
Alessandra teaches yoga online and in presence in Torino and Berlin – both in yoga studios and corporate environments. She also organises workshops and yoga retreats on sailing boats for ale& ale.
After Ale and Ale’s project kicked-off, she has been keen in learning how to sail, and in 2020 she successfully obtained the RYA Day Skipper license. She is therefore acting as second capitain in command on the boat.
